- No 5 - The NEW Works Vehicle....

This vehicle "Landrover Freelander 2" was ordered in Mid September 2009 & was collected from the dealer (Barretts Of Ashford) at the very end of November.
The reason for this vehicle was mainly to preserve the MG ZR-Express Van for the future as no matter how particular one is with something, if it gets used day in & day out it will wear out & as the MG is so rare I wanted to preserve it for the future so is now semi-retired!

You will still see me using the MG but this will only be on dry days from Spring to Autumn & generally on local jobs. It will also attend MG shows as it has since I first got it.

The Freelander was chosen as mainly it is British and was once part & parcel of the same company as the MG etc but as with the MG I wanted something NOT ordinary as anyone can do that with a white van etc, so I ordered the Freelander 2 & then to get it noticed had several accessories added to seperate it from the rest & of course in my corporate colour!!. The colour is not the same as the MG but extreemly similar!
As for the interior I didn't really want black as with most cars it is all black = too much black, I do like the cream (Alpaca) but only wanted the cream seats with the rest black as that would be a nice contrast but you couldn't do that! I setlled in the end for the Storm Grey trim - new to the 2010 model which gave a nice light grey & black two tone with the wood dash finisher. The privacy glass was also specified. I wanted Xenon light which should I think be standard on this the top model but was not prepared to pay over £600 for the privalege.

The first 6 pictures (top line) are of it finished with signwriting & accessories etc, the rest are various stages of preparation. The dealer was kind in letting me do the preparation valet in the showroom as I stipulated this before I bought it!!
